Hello, In this article I am going to give you some more informations about our Intensive Driving Course Glasgow services.
There are many ways of learning how to drive, involving private practice with qualified driver, traditional weekly lessons and Intensive Driving Courses.
Which option is the best ? There isn’t just one.
Doing traditional weekly lessons can work great, but from my experience as a qualified instructors of many years it works best if you do at least 2 x 2 hr lessons per week.
Doing one hr lesson in a lot of times will take a very long time to progress. Reason is simple, during one hr lesson, you will spend a good few minutes getting to a suitable location, then a good few minutes debriefing the lessons plan / previous lesson, when you start practicing the time will fly really quick and then usually you will need to start heading back home to debrief from you lesson.
Doing one hr, a lot of times mean that you will spend about 30 minutes in learning of new things only. If you stay far from driving test centre, this is not a great option as well, simply with the time it takes to get to the areas to practice you might already have to head back.
If you are doing a 2 hr lesson, things are better, you can go further and explore more areas, you can practice more new things. Doing it regularly can work well. Typically new students (with no experience) doing 2 x 2 hr lessons per week can achieve a test standard in about 3 months.
What about Intensive Driving Course Glasgow ?
Well intensive courses are designed to fit as much as possible in the short possible time.
You will typically be spending about 4 hrs with your instructor per day. From my experience as an instructor who has been doing these courses on weekly basis for few years, the optimal time is 4 hrs per day. Doing any more than that, feels like to much for the student to take new informations in. Even after four hours most of my students tend to get tired and say they had a good sleep just after the lesson.
We usually split this 4 hrs into two sessions with a short refreshing break inbetween. Intensive courses can work really well for students with previous driving experience, done well they can also work for new drivers (usually over 2-4 weeks).
With intensive courses you will usually be able to explore quite a lot of areas during your lesson – simply with the 4 hrs you can get quite far and practice a lot every day.
Intensive Driving Course Glasgow aren’t however the perfect solution for everyone. You need to be available for the week and you need to put a lot of effort to continue learning for the whole week. You will likely be tired after each day and you will likely be given some homework to prepare for the next day lessons.
We usually give our students a plan for the next day, this allow them to watch some video lessons and prepare for each day. This way then know what they will be working on before they start the lesson, it allows them to understand the subject quicker and maximise the important driving time – as that’s when you learn the most!
What about the pass rates ?
From my experience these tend to be very similar to traditional lessons. A good intensive course should be completed with a “mock test”. This will allow you & the instructor properly asses if you are ready to sit the test. This will also allow to organise more practice if any areas of your driving are not up to test standard or simply postpone the test. At the end of the date it’s all about one thing. Making you a safe driver & giving you the best chance of passing your test first time.
