Choosing the right driving course, especially in an intensive format, can be hard. With so many companies offering quick pass solutions, how do you know which ones to trust? How can you be sure the course you pay for is legitimate, well-structured, and safe?
At Pass in Days, we believe learners deserve clear answers and honest guidance. We’ve been helping new drivers since 2014, and we’ve seen too many people come to us after being misled or let down by other companies.
So, how can you protect yourself? Here are 7 warning signs to watch for, plus insights into how a trusted driving course company should operate.
1. No registered UK address or phone number? Be cautious.
Nowadays it’s common for customer service members to work primarly from home, and this is absulutely fine. However, a reliable intensive driving courses company should have a registered UK address, and a working phone number. If there’s no way to get in touch other than a web form or email, that’s a major red flag.
Ask yourself: Can I call and speak to a real person? Can I verify their business registration?
At Pass in Days, our Registered Office is in Glasgow, and you can reach us easily online or by phone. We’ve been operating since 2014 with a small, dedicated team. You can also see driving test results we regularly post on our Facebook page—a level of transparency you won’t find with some companies.
2. No track record? Think twice.
How long has the company been offering intensive driving lessons? While everyone has to start somewhere, companies with a longer history and a traceable reputation are generally more reliable. A lack of company history or visible experience can be a red flag.
Look out for vague information, or no “About Us” page. Ask: How many years have they been operating? How many instructors work with them?
At Pass in Days, we’ve been around since 2014, and we work with over 25 trusted driving instructors in the UK, all fully qualified. Many of our instructors have been with us for years—a sign of quality and consistency.
3. Bad or no reviews? Investigate carefully.
Would you book a holiday without checking reviews? The same logic applies when choosing a driving courses company. A trusted driving course company should have plenty of real, detailed reviews on platforms like Trustpilot, Google, or Facebook.
Don’t just look at the star rating—read the actual comments. Ask:
- Are the positive reviews detailed and genuine?
- Are there recurring complaints in the negative ones?
- Does the company respond professionally?
At Pass in Days, we are proud of having some of the best Trustpilot reviews in the UK for intensive driving courses. You can see what real learners have said here.
4. Poor communication and empty promises? Walk away.
Honest, polite, and helpful customer service is a big part of what makes a company trustworthy. Ask:
- Do I get clear answers when I call?
- Are they transparent about the process, pricing, and possible delays?
- Are they promising a guaranteed pass? (That’s a scam alert!)
At Pass in Days, you can always talk to real people. Alex and Edith from our Sales Team are happy to help you make the right choice. We’ll never guarantee you’ll pass, but we’ll do everything we can to make you safe and ready.
5. No specific course dates? That’s a problem.
It’s true that most intensive driving courses will confirm your test date after booking—finding fast-track tests is a manual, time-consuming process. But beware if the company won’t secure your course dates in advance.
Ask:
- Can I see my course dates before paying?
- Is there a booking fee and payment confirmation?
At Pass in Days, we always secure your course dates upfront, once you pay the booking fee. Then we begin the work of finding fast-track test for you.
Our team manually searches for cancellations daily. On average, we book 60–100 tests per month. It’s hard work—but it means you don’t have to sit on the DVSA website all day.
6. No mock test? No feedback? That’s unsafe.
A trusted driving course company cares about safety—not just getting you to the test. If a company doesn’t provide a mock driving test, or sends learners to their DVSA practical driving test unprepared, that’s a big concern.
Ask:
- Do they assess my readiness before the test?
- Do they allow me to delay the test if needed?
- Will I get honest feedback about my skills?
Every course organized by Pass in Days ends with a mock test. Your instructor will give you honest feedback. If you’re not quite ready, we’ll help you plan extra lessons or reschedule the test. We never push learners into unsafe situations.
7. One-size-fits-all? That doesn’t work.
Everyone learns differently. A reliable intensive driving courses company will offer multiple course lengths, and help you choose the one that fits your background.
Ask:
- Do they ask about my experience before booking?
- Do they explain the difference between course lengths?
- Do they help me set realistic goals?
We organise 5, 7, and 10-day courses:
- 5-day course: For intermediate learners.
- 7-day course: For beginners with at least 10 hours of experience in the last 6 months.
- 10-day course: For complete beginners with no experience.
We take time to understand your needs and give you honest advice. We won’t sell you a longer course just to charge more, or a shorter one that leaves you unprepared.
